Condom Day in Guludo Village
The day kicked off with one of the world-famous Ningaia HIV theatre performances - and what a performance it was! The crowd were in raptures at the new routine. As the play came to an end, the encores rung out across the village as they discussed the spectacle in delight. Next was the feast; a banquet fit for Kings. As the plates were all cleared it was time for some lighter entertainment. There...

Ningaia School - Phase 2 Begins!
Harry, Abacar, Fia and Dali and their team of labourers are making great progress with building the new classrooms. The foundations are in, and the team are making thousands of cement building blocks. The normally sleepy village of Ningaia is now busy with the banging of hammers and anvils and the excitement of the children awaiting their new school.

HIV Drama Performances
With approximately half a million children already orphaned by AIDS in Mozambique and a further 102 children infected by HIV every day, it’s something that is hard to ignore. People would climb palm trees in desperation to watch over the heads of the adoring crowd.  Our HIV theatre performances were widely celebrated throughout the region, with the group performing in every one of the 12...

Houston, we have Water!
Amina Suale and her family of five live in Lumuamua, a poor and remote rural village along the coast of Northern Mozambique, not far from Guludo. Up until a year ago, the community relied on shallow, hand-dug ponds for their drinking water. Not only did these water sources fail to meet the community’s water needs, but they also propelled the spread of water-borne diseases. In early 2009,...
